The Greenville Drive (24-20) coming off a strong victory by Isaac Coffey Friday night in a 6-2 win over the Rome Braves (21-23) was looking for the series win in Georgia with the threat of bad weather around the game was able to play out.


The Drive had great pitching and defense, with a score in the fourth and two runs in the 8th inning, they was able to hold Rome to one run and win the game 3-1. Wikelman Gonzales got 12 K’s making him the third starting pitcher for Greenville with double digit strike outs this week. The pitching staff as a whole has been giving great starts and closing over the last few weeks and seems to be gaining ground for Coach Iggy. The Drive return home Tuesday for a 6-game set vs. Hickory, make sure to get your tickets now! The Drive close out their series with Rome Sunday afternoon.
